Therapeutic cupping is a medical technique that has been used since ancient times to treat many diseases and health conditions. Therapeutic cupping involves applying glass cups to the skin, either through massage or by using a cupping candle to create suction on the skin. When the cups are removed, an improved blood flow is created to the treated area, which promotes wound healing and improves the vital function of tissues.
Numerous modern scientific studies have shown that therapeutic cupping can be effective in treating lower back pain. There are many recent studies that examine the effectiveness of therapeutic cupping in treating lower back pain. Among these studies:
In a 2021 study published in the journal "Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine," 80 patients with lower back pain underwent therapeutic cupping sessions with standard medical treatment, and the study showed that therapeutic cupping was more effective in treating lower back pain than standard medical treatment alone.
In a 2019 study published in the journal "Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice," 40 patients with lower back pain underwent therapeutic cupping sessions, and the study showed that the use of therapeutic cupping had a positive effect on treating lower back pain and improving body movement and daily performance.
In a 2016 study published in the journal "Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine," 60 patients with lower back pain underwent therapeutic cupping sessions, and the study showed that therapeutic cupping was effective in improving pain and movement ability in the treated area.
In a 2015 study published in the journal "Journal of Acupuncture and Meridian Studies," 40 patients with lower back pain underwent therapeutic cupping sessions, and the study showed that therapeutic cupping was effective in improving pain and movement ability in the treated area and improving the quality of sleep in patients. It should be noted that therapeutic cupping should be performed by a licensed and trained practitioner, and should not be used as a standalone treatment. Consultation with a doctor is also recommended before using therapeutic cupping to treat lower back pain.
